Oomph powers three winners at the Mobies

We are proud to announce that three of our clients, Frost* Design/Fraser Properties, Myer and InDesign Asia were winners last night at the Digital Mobile Awards 2013 held at the Beresford Hotel in Surry Hills, while five more Oomph clients were named as finalists.

These awards are hailed as celebrating creativity, courage and innovation in mobile achievements by both creators and commissioners, the awards provide a unique opportunity for all sectors of the industry to participate across an extensive range of entry categories and achieve marketplace recognition.

The three winners were:

Sales Force:  Sky – One Central Park

The Sky-OneCentralPark app introduces you to the iconic Sky residential tower that will rise above Central Park in Sydney, Australia. You can “Take to the Sky’ and interact with 360° panoramas of selected apartments, experience the horizon to horizon view of Sydney that the apartments will enjoy, explore different floor plans and interior fittings. The “Sky is the Limit” is your introduction to the tower with videos and interviews with Jean Nouvel, the architect behind this iconic building, discussing his work.


The Sky -OneCentralPark app was produced by Tony Redhead, our Oomph Creative Technologist.  This is the second year in a row that he has won an award at the Mobies.  Tony has a depth of experience using Oomph and continues to push it the limits of what it can achieve which is a driving force behind our innovation.

One Central Park

“It was very satisfying to see the Sky-OneCentralPark App win the category Sales Force last night at the Mobies Award ceremony. Without a doubt it is one of the most complex tablet app projects I’ve ever built. Incorporated in the app are hundreds of integrated files including a complete building spin, floorplans, galleries of finishes, personalised email and facebook pages, 360˚ panoramas and 360˚ sky views. It is a testament to the power of the Oomph tablet publishing system that it was possible to achieve such a multi-level structure of integrated interactivity without having to create a bespoke app.”

Fashion: Myer Emporium by Myer and Bauer Media

Myer Emporium magazine for iPad is the result of a successful and strong partnership between Myer and Bauer Media. Bauer works with Myer to produce a much-loved print magazine that is a gift with purchase for 250,000 Myer One shoppers 4 times a year. From this success we have worked with technology partner Oomph to create a beautiful, interactive – and free! – fashion magazine app for iPad!

IndesignMedia publish popular architecture and design magazines. When considering the migration to digital, we thought, why think small? Rather than migrating each of our magazines as discrete, individual digital publications, we conceived the idea of a constantly updated, portable architecture and design library, one that would house not only richly enhanced digital versions of our own magazines, but a diverse, value-adding spread of other architecture and design content, too. It would also function as a revolutionary tool for our advertisers and clients, replacing their reliance on print/e-catalogues with a far more effective, mobile platform.


What is the most exciting part about the awards is that our clients are using the Oomph platform to create a range of apps. The Oomph platform places app production in the hands of designers, not just coders, so we continue to be excited by the types of apps our clients create (and what awards they will win) using our tools.
