Mogeneration announces senior management appointments

Mogeneration, the creator of the Oomph platform powering companies to publish on tablets, today announced three senior management appointments to help drive the business in a high growth environment.  Lisa Walton has been appointed Marketing Director, while Nick Backhouse and Guy Baxter have been appointed Business Directors. The appointments are effective immediately and follow the completion of Mogeneration’s first round of capital raising in early May. They will join CEO Keith Ahern, Chief Technology Officer, Co-founder Tom Adams and recently appointed Head of Client Services, Dan Swan in Mogeneration’s management team. Mogeneration’s Oomph platform enables traditional publishers, media agencies and corporates to create magazine style apps on the iPad, iPhone and Android powered tablets with high impact and low effort. As Marketing Director, Lisa Walton will head all marketing functions with a particular focus on the brand positioning of the Oomph platform. Lisa has more than 10 years global marketing experience in mobile and telecommunications with stints at Vodafone in New Zealand and Australia, and British Telecom (BT) in London. Most recently she was Marketing Manger in Telstra Business Customer Marketing. Business Directors, Nick Backhouse and Guy Baxter will lead Mogeneration’s new business acquisition efforts to the Oomph platform in the key B2B, consumer and custom publishing sectors. They will also engage leading titles in financial services, business management, IT, sport and fitness verticals and focus on new opportunities to expand the Oomph platform in areas, such as corporate communications and advertising. Nick joins the company from North America where he spent the last three years as Sales Director for CDM Media. During this time Nick was instrumental in CDM’s rapid growth, which saw revenues increase by more than 140% year-on-year. Guy has more than 15 years in the media industry with a full spectrum of experience and has worked in full-service agencies, global digital publishers, media agencies and technology providers. He has experience in both the buying and the selling side of media, working with companies such as eBay, Yahoo!, DoubleClick (Google), Carat and MindShare. Mogeneration CEO, Keith Ahern said he was excited about the appointments and they were an important step in the company maintaining its growth momentum in the Australian market and overseas. “I am delighted to welcome these executives to our team and I look forward to the significant contribution they will make to the business.”

“Mogeneration is expanding at a rapid rate as the success of the Oomph platform exceeds expectations and it delivers great results to our clients. The fantastic industry experience and knowledge, as well as high energy Lisa, Nick and Guy bring to the company will ensure this growth continues and we remain a leading provider of digital solutions,” Ahern said. Lisa Walton said she leapt at the chance to be a part of the dynamic business in the fast growing industry of tablet publishing: “Tablet technology is changing the way we consume content and connect with our friends, even transforming the way we work. It’s a great chance to be a part of this evolution and lead the company’s marketing strategy at such pivotal time for the business.” Nick Backhouse added, “The Oomph platform is a leading innovation in the tablet publishing world, enabling traditional publishers, corporate organisations and media agencies to use their existing workflow systems to extend into new media channels. I am looking forward to working for a company that is so passionate about providing their customers with great service and innovative solutions” “It’s a great time to be joining Mogeneration with many so many opportunities facing Oomph’s cross media platform and empowering companies to make the transition to tablet publishing by harnessing this great technology at their finger tips,” concluded Guy Baxter.
