University of Adelaide e-Science app, winner at the South Australian Interactive Media Excellence Awards.

The e-Science app, already a finalist at the 2013 Australian Mobile Awards and Digital Magazine Awards 2013, has now won The Government, Education and Non-profit category at the South Australian Interactive Media Excellence Awards celebrated last month in Adelaide.

These awards are a product of collaboration between the Interactive Media Industry Association and The Advertiser to feature South Australian success stories in the interactive media industry.

The App competed against a wide range of interactive media, including websites, encyclopaedias, bibliographic guides, libraries, research sites and corporate reference products.

The Oomph powered app which has a 4.5 star rating in the App Store, is a free science magazine written by researchers for both teachers and the public, and is only available digitally.

“We didn’t know what to expect when we embarked on publishing e-Science, but the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. We often find ourselves featured alongside other publications we know and admire. We are really excited by our magazine’s global audience and have readers in parts of the world we never dreamed of reaching.” Says Professor Robert Hill, Faculty of Science Executive Dean at The University of Adelaide.

Oomph is the simplest way to create and deliver engaging content to tablets.  We are the preferred tablet-publishing platform in the education industry allowing for publications, magazines and collateral to be transformed into rich multimedia apps.
