Australian Women’s Weekly, Australia’s biggest magazine, brought to the Apple iPad using Mogeneration’s digital publishing platform

Sydney, Australia – October 25, 2010 – Using Mogeneration’s Oomph publishing platform, ACP Magazines has brought Australia’s best selling monthly magazine, Australian Women’s Weekly, to the iPad, beginning with the November 2010 issue.

“Mogeneration’s iPad publishing platform empowers our existing publishing team to create interactive iPad magazines”, says Carl Hammerschmidt, Director, ACP Digital. “Its unique approach to digital publishing complemented our existing workflow and delivered the high quality of product we demanded.”

Australian Women’s Weekly contains every page of the printed magazine and also includes videos, slideshows and hotspots for interactivity. Once an issue is downloaded it works completely offline; articles can be shared by email or bookmarked. The iPad edition is $5.99, less than the $6.90 for the print edition. The app will be available from the 27th of October 2010 on the Apple App Store or from http://bit.ly/awwipad

“We are excited to bring the iconic Australian Women’s Weekly to what is surely a future icon, the Apple iPad”, says Keith Ahern, CEO Mogeneration. “iPad Magazines make sense. Everything that’s great about a print magazine, the layout, the content, the contextual advertisements and the size translate wonderfully to the iPad – then you add the Internet, multimedia, personalisation and online advertising. iPad Ads regularly show higher click through rates than the web. This is the future of magazines, in your hands, right now.”
